Die diesjährige TorTour war aber nicht nur wegen der Bedingungen etwas Besonderes. Nach 20 Jahren war es die letzte Ausgabe dieser einzigartigen Veranstaltung. Eine Veranstaltung, die weit mehr war als ein Ultralauf. Sie war Treffpunkt, Herausforderung, Freundschaft, Leidensgemeinschaft und für viele von uns ein Stück Heimat.

Was die TorTour über all die Jahre ausgemacht hat, war aber vor allem die Ultralauf-Gemeinschaft. Eine Gemeinschaft, die ihresgleichen sucht. Menschen, die sich gegenseitig helfen, obwohl sie eigentlich Konkurrenten sind. Menschen, die an Verpflegungspunkten mitfiebern, als würden sie selbst laufen. Menschen, die verstehen, warum man freiwillig 230 Kilometer durch die Gegend rennt. Genau diese besondere Gemeinschaft macht unseren Sport aus – und ich bin dankbar, ein Teil davon sein zu dürfen.

Vielen Dank für eure Unterstützung und dafür, dass ihr geholfen habt, die Welt ein kleines Stück orange zu färben. 🧡

A first for ECA - and honestly, a first I've seen anywhere
in Drupal config-driven logic:

• run a model
• replay what happened, step by step
• debug where it went off

The feedback loop closes. Complex workflows become
approachable.

Build, test, debug -- one screen. You never leave the modeler.

This is leading edge. No other workflow tool in any CMS does this.

Let's look into the example of building tools. They can be used by AI Agents, MCP, and others.

The downside: you have to provide the input arguments in a specific form so that we can upcast the data before calling the tool.

Most users won't ever do that, and it's error prone.

Now: the config schema defines the structure, and the modeler turns that into a frontend
widget. Strings become text inputs. Booleans become checkboxes. Lists get add/remove controls.
Nested mappings become fieldsets.

You can toggle between the structured editor and raw YAML at any time. Changes sync both ways.

And in YAML mode, you get real-time schema validation. Type mismatches, missing required fields,
unexpected properties -- all flagged immediately.

This makes complex configuration accessible to people who would never write YAML by hand.

Export a workflow as JSON, include replay data, embed it in any web page.

No Drupal required. No server. Just a JavaScript bundle and a JSON file.

Use it for

• documentation
• client presentations
• training material

You can even use full screen view and interactively explore each model.

The Modeler opens -- and look: the context is pre-selected.

Now I add an event. Only form related events are available. See how the form parameter is already filled in?

And when I add an action for this field -- the field name is pre-populated.

This is what it means to start from context. The Modeler meets you where you are.

But there is more: the model doesn't close accidently.

And back on the form, ECA now exposes if is was involved in processing the current page. See the logo bottom right.

The model then only shows that selected event, the rest of the model is still there but not visible.

And the replay data from tha context where you cam from is already loaded into the panel. Start debugging right away.

Gemeinsam mit den Kollegen ging es heute auf die Strecke des Firmenlaufs. Die Motivation war hoch, das Tempo knackig – und am Ende lief es auf dem Heimatsportplatz einfach richtig rund!

Nach dem Zielsprint stand dann auch fest, warum die Uhr so eine tolle Zeit angezeigt hat: Die Strecke war diesmal nämlich ein gutes Stück kürzer als die offiziellen 5,1 km.

Da war ich heute definitiv schneller unterwegs als unsere Busse im Berufsverkehr! 😉
